Richard F. Keevey

Richard F. Keevey is the director of the Policy Research Institute for the Region at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. He has held senior positions in federal and state government as well as the private sector.

Prior to his current post at Princeton, he served as director of the National Academy of Public Administration's Performance Consortium and Human Resources Management Consortium from 2004 to 2007. He was appointed by President Clinton to serve as chief financial officer for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, where he was responsible for all financial management issues, including budgeting, system integration, and financial reporting. He also served as deputy under secretary for financial management and director for finance and accounting at the Department of Defense, where he received both the medal for Outstanding Service and the medal for Distinguished Service from the Secretary of Defense.

His state government experience includes appointments by two governors; as director of the Office of Management and Budget for the state of New Jersey, as well as serving as the state budget director and state comptroller. In the private sector, Mr. Keevey served as director of the Core Administration Program at The Unisys Corporation and as director of the Budget and Financial Management Consulting Practice at Anderson, LLP. He earned a bachelor's in political science from La Salle College and a master's in government administration from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.
