Primary Care Payment Redesign

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act requires that Medicaid pay primary care providers at 100% of Medicare rates for specific services in 2013 and 2014. The increase is designed to help states build network capacity and prepare for the Medicaid expansion in 2014. CHCS is working with Medicaid stakeholders to effectively implement primary care rate increases and use this new purchasing power to obtain higher-quality health care services.
