Partnership Health Plan Needs Assessment Survey
Partnership Health Plan of California, a participant in the BCAP
Improving Managed Care for Special with Special Needs workgroup, worked closely with provider practice organizations, medical groups, county health agencies, and other local organizations to develop a parent survey to formally assess the needs of children with special needs and their families. The survey was translated into Partnership's threshold languages, including Spanish and Russian, and was mailed to 1,429 families of children with special needs. Partnership achieved a 19 percent response rate and received valuable information that assisted the plan in developing interventions based on specific issues identified:
- Importance of a written care plan.
- Importance of care coordination.
- Use of Parent Resource Notebook.
