Family and youth peer support is an important component of the Care Management Entity (CME) approach. This webinar highlighted two statewide models of family and youth peer support, in Arizona and Massachusetts, including information related to Medicaid funding for the service, qualification and certification requirements, workforce development, training and coaching, and roles and responsibilities. In addition, the webinar provided information about the national peer certification efforts of the National Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health.

The presentation outlines: 1) the role that family and youth peer support plays in supporting CMEs to engage and empower caregivers in keeping children and youth in their homes and communities; 2) staffing and funding strategies (including the role of Medicaid); and 3) national efforts related to family and youth peer support certification.
