The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has granted approval to a Section 1115 waiver from Massachusetts to restructure its Medicaid program to include Accountable Care Organizations that will work closely with community-based organizations in a variety of areas. The deal includes $52.4 billion in funding over five years to support the reforms, which also include programs to address patients with opioid dependency and support for safety-net providers.
ACO News is a feature of the Medicaid Accountable Care Organization Resource Center, an online collection of tools designed to help Medicaid agencies develop and launch accountable care organizations.
