Position Overview
CHCS is seeking a proactive and highly detail-oriented candidate to serve as a Human Resources Assistant for the Operations division. This full-time, entry-level position will perform the administrative tasks involved with various operational needs and will support two senior-level professionals. This position is based in the CHCS office, near Princeton, NJ, and offers a hybrid schedule, two days in the office and three days remote. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain employee records, including personnel files and benefit information (such as insurance coverage, paid time off, AAA memberships).
- Assist with recruitment activities, including posting and managing job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling and coordinating interviews.
- Track applications via Applicant Tracking Software (i.e. ADP WorkForce Now) and maintain supporting documentation throughout the recruiting process.
- Prepare new hire onboarding packets, process new hire paperwork, and schedule new hire orientation meetings.
- Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, terminations and annual Open Enrollment preparations.
- Assist with annual performance review process and 90-day evaluations.
- Assist with scheduling, coordinating and tracking professional development opportunities and annual compliance staff training.
- Assist with annual Federal reporting requirements.
- Provide support for employee relations activities, including investigations and documentation.
- Address employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Work closely with VP, HR to develop organizational policies and procedures.
- Ensure all HR-related documents are up to date on Intranet (such as organizational chart, policies, State employment law posters).
- Maintain Cash Log.
- Manage IT/maintenance requests and create purchase orders, as needed.
- Process facility service and meeting center requests via Electronic Tenant Portal.
- Manage conference room calendars and reservations via Outlook.
- Manage and process office supply orders and CHCS stationary inventory.
- Maintain operations of postage meter and office equipment.
- Assist with coordinating, packaging, and shipping IT equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Associate’s degree in related field is preferred but two or more years of previous experience in human resources will be considered.
- General knowledge of employment laws and practices, and benefits administration experience is required.

- Experience with ADP WorkForce Now is preferred.
Salary and Compensation
The salary range for this position is $47,718 – $54,233. The exact salary for this position within this range will depend on the candidate’s years of relevant experience and responsibilities. CHCS’ benefit package is comprehensive and highly competitive benefit package.
