Nathalie Melo, MPH, is a program officer at the Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS). In this role, she supports projects related to delivery system and payment reform, including projects identifying opportunities to expand Type 1 diabetes screening and supports for Medicaid beneficiaries.
Prior to joining CHCS, Nathalie interned at Primary Care Development Corporation where she researched primary care policy, particularly related to Medicaid, with a focus on health equity to produce and share advocacy materials. Nathalie also previously interned at Syracuse Community Geography and City of Syracuse Neighborhood & Business Development, where she worked on census tract mapping of eviction and potentially associated health outcomes in Syracuse, New York.
Nathalie holds a master’s degree in public health from Syracuse University. She also completed her undergraduate education at Syracuse University, with a major in policy studies and minors in biology and health humanities.
When not at work, Nathalie enjoys finding new hiking trails and trying out new baking recipes!
