Women's & Maternal Health

Medicaid covers essential health care services for approximately one in five women in the United States. As the largest payer of reproductive health services, Medicaid funds critical maternal care, postpartum supports, and family planning. Additionally, Medicaid ensures access to preventive services that are crucial for early detection and treatment of conditions that uniquely impact women. CHCS works at the state, health plan, provider, and community levels to address the socioeconomic and systemic barriers to quality women’s health care, aiming to improve health outcomes and reduce disparities.
