Nathalie Melo, MPH, is a program associate at the Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS). In this role, she supports projects related to delivery system and payment reform, including the Medicaid Health-Related Social Needs Learning Series, an initiative that is supporting state Medicaid agencies in advancing social needs strategies while integrating health equity. Nathalie also works on projects identifying opportunities to expand Type 1 diabetes screening and supports for Medicaid beneficiaries.

Prior to joining CHCS, Nathalie interned at Primary Care Development Corporation where she researched primary care policy, particularly related to Medicaid, with a focus on health equity to produce and share advocacy materials. Nathalie also previously interned at Syracuse Community Geography and City of Syracuse Neighborhood & Business Development, where she worked on census tract mapping of eviction and potentially associated health outcomes in Syracuse, New York.

Nathalie holds a master’s degree in public health from Syracuse University. She also completed her undergraduate education at Syracuse University, with a major in policy studies and minors in biology and health humanities.

When not at work, Nathalie enjoys finding new hiking trails and trying out new baking recipes!
