Michael Canonico is the associate director of digital content and strategy at the Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS). In this role, Michael directs website development, oversees publication and content production, and leads creative design.

Previously, Michael was a product marketing director at ActiveHealth Management (an Aetna subsidiary) where he led business-to-business and consumer marketing strategy for ActiveHealth’s portfolio of population health solutions, including clinical decision support, disease management, and wellness coaching, among others. Michael was also a product communications manager at Optum, where he led client and consumer communications for Optum’s suite of digital population health solutions, including the company’s health assessment, online coaching, and incentives platforms.

Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Ramapo College of New Jersey.

When Michael is not working, he is most likely out in his yard gardening (all flowers, no veggies!). He is also an avid weightlifter, cosmology nerd, and a figure skating super fan. His guilty pleasure is watching (and rewatching) any movie or show in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — much to the dismay of his husband.
