Tyler Shives is a communications associate at the Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS). In this role, Tyler supports communications across CHCS initiatives that aim to improve care for people with complex health and social needs, including the Better Care Playbook. He provides writing, editing, and production support for CHCS efforts focused on advancing more integrated, person-centered, and equitable care.

Previously, Tyler was a communications coordinator at Benefits Data Trust — a national nonprofit connecting individuals to public benefits — where he managed and optimized internal and external dissemination, conferences, and client stories. Tyler also worked as a production assistant at Under the Sun Productions where he helped produce events including the Chicago Magnificent Mile Lights festival, the 6abc Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day parade, the Orlando Citrus Bowl parade, and many more.

Tyler holds a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

Outside of work, Tyler is an instructor at CycleBar West Chester (come take a class!) and a choreographer for a world-finalist color guard based out of Delaware County, Pennsylvania — Main Line Independent. He also enjoys playing video games and spending time with his cat, Orion and chocolate labradoodle, Birdo.
