The National Aging Readiness dashboard, part of the West Health Mosaic website, brings together national and state-level data to help policymakers, advocates, and other stakeholders understand how communities can prepare to support a rapidly aging population. The dashboard translates data into insights, highlighting trends in demographics, economic security, health status, and health care coverage and access that shape aging in the United States.
The Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS) is partnering with West Health to strengthen the dashboard’s policy relevance and expand its national reach. Drawing on its experience working with Medicaid agencies, health plans, and other public-sector leaders, CHCS is helping to ensure that the dashboard meets the needs of decision-makers planning for an aging population, including those leading multisector plans for aging.
CHCS’ activities include:
- Providing expertise on Medicaid, aging, and multisector planning, as well as gathering input from state leaders and aging experts to identify priority indicators, data sources, and policy questions to inform the dashboard;
- Convening a technical advisory group to review draft dashboard content and offer feedback on structure, usability, and policy relevance;
- Developing blog posts and other materials to translate dashboard findings into practical insights for policymakers, payers, providers, and community stakeholders, paired with national dissemination.
