A rigorous measurement approach must be firmly embedded in quality improvement projects to produce meaningful results. The Best Clinical and Administrative Practices (BCAP) Quality Workbook helps organizations incorporate measurement strategies into initial project design and evaluate ongoing progress of quality efforts. CHCS developed the workbook to assist organizations that are designing quality initiatives using the BCAP Quality Framework.

The workbook includes a planning tool to describe the project; a place to document PDSA cycles; a data collection tool for pilot and common measures; and a qualitative self-assessment to evaluate team capacity, sustainability, and diffusion efforts. It automatically creates graphs of pilot and common measures to clearly illustrate progress and help organizations “tell the story” of their quality improvement efforts.
